When one of the participants in a recent Dad’s Discussion Group session started sharing how much he was being impacted by the content, I had no idea where he was going with it. He thanked his pastor for encouraging him to register. Then he proceeded to talk about how what he is learning has changed his life. He expressed appreciation of my book Father Love and the Study Guide, and that for the first time in his life he understands what loving his kids should look like.

You see, his father was not there for him growing up. As a father himself, now, he had felt ill-prepared and inadequate. Then, he shared that he was moved to contact his father. In previous sessions, we had discussed healing our father wound, forgiveness and reconciliation. He is thrilled that his father is interested in what he is learning and that they are now talking regularly!

What a blessing it is to know that as we are working to turn the hearts of fathers to their children (Malachi 4:6), adult fathers and sons hearts are turning toward each other. Thank you, Lord!

I wrote Father Love – The Powerful Resource Every Child Needs to inspire dads to give their children what no one else on earth can… their fully-developed father love.
