If it is not good, God is not finished.
For the Christian, whatever you’re facing, there is great news to consider. The word of God promises this:
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
In my late teens, I got into big trouble. To make a long story short, I was talked into participating in a crime by people with whom I should not have been involved. It resulted in jail and five year’s of probation. That was not good, to state the obvious.
As a young and immature believer, I could not forsee any good outcome from that mistake. But, what I did not know was, God would redeem that experience. How, you ask? Years later, as I started working with teens and prisoners, I found that sharing my story opened their hearts to the gospel. Teens can relate to my failure. Juvey, jail and prison inmates know I can empathize with them, having been where they are. It gives them hope.
Worship Leader Todd Galberth’s current hit radio song For My Good speaks to this promise. It is #17 on the Hot Gospel 20 countdown this week. Check it out.
As in my particular case, it is not always what the enemy means for evil that God works for your good. Even our mistakes, bad decisions, accidents, illnesses… whatever… God is able to redeem for a good purpose, when you love Him and He has called you for His purpose. It may not look good right now, but eventually it will work for your good. God is not finished.
May this promise encourage you and give you confidence as you live each day in God’s purpose for your life.
